Bridge Timber hit eight!

Runcorn Sunday League Premier Division match report: Bridge Timber FC 8 Brookvale FC 2 BROOKVALE took the lead with a well-worked corner after four minutes but Bridge hit straight back after 10 minutes gone after constant pressure when good work from Peter Murphy and Andy Gott resulted with Murphy crossing for Jordan Neary to volley home from 18 yards for 1-1.

Bridge Timber pressed and with 19 minutes gone Kev Ward swung the corner in, Andy Gott having a simple task of heading the ball home to give Bridge the lead.

Kev Ward again caused mayhem, putting Karl Thomas in for 3-1 with a good cross, Thomas sending the keeper the wrong way before Brookvale hit back with a good goal of there own to make it 3-2 at half time.

After a half time team talk from Cunningham and Porter, Bridge came out with a different attitude.

Four minutes in Pete Murphy, Timbers left back ventured forward and after a three-man move involving Jordan Neary and Kev Ward struck home from just outside the box with a fine left-footed shot for 4-2.

Kev Ward was again involved, crossing for Thomas Whalley to head home for 5-2.

Kev Ward then tied the Brookvale defence in knots with an individual goal after a mazy run and fired home with a brilliant individual effort for 6-2 before Murphy again showed his accuracy with a fine left footed shot after Ward put him in, 7-2 the score.

88 minutes gone, Kev Ward rounded the scoring off with a fine strike, side-footing home from 18 yards after good work fro Karl Thomas junior.
