Widnes Vikings, in partnership with fans’ organisation Vikings’ Quids In, VIQI, have beaten off competition from six clubs, both Super League and National League to sign half-back James Webster on a two year contract. The 29 year old Australian joins the Vikings having spent the last 4 years on Humberside playing for both Hull KR and Hull FC.

MPs take up Super League licence battle for Vikings

HALTON MPs Derek Twigg and Mike Hall have written to the Rugby Football League to ask them to ‘reconsider’ whether Widnes should be handed a Super League licence following the collapse of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ stadium plans.
