I WOULD like to comment on the mess that Halton Borough Council has caused to the public of Runcorn and the surrounding areas by not allowing a public inquiry into the building of the incinerator.
The council were voted in by the public to safeguard us and the surrounding area. They have failed by not allowing a public inquiry into the building of the incinerator. This incinerator will be built on the doorstep of the people in Weston Point and this will affect the surrounding areas of Runcorn.
If the people of Halton stopped or even failed to pay their council tax we would be prosecuted, a fine imposed or even receive a prison sentence.
So we, the public of Halton, should request a public inquiry into the running of Halton Borough Council so that the councillors who are at fault can resign from their posts on the grounds of failing to serve the people of Halton.

There are 19 electoral wards in Halton and these wards had a total of 1637 live births recorded in 2007.
There were also fifteen infant deaths recorded in Halton in 2007, so the average infant mortality rate for the borough is 9.2 per 1,000 live births.
One of Halton's wards had three infant deaths in 2007 and just over 100 live births while one of London's electoral wards had over 1300 live births and zero infant deaths recorded during the 6-year period 2002-2007.
Sixteen of London's 625 electoral wards had infant mortality rates greater than or equal to 11.0 per 1,000 live births during 6-year period 2002-2007 and elecven of these high infant death wards were either wholly or partially within 2 miles of an incinerator. Does that give you a clue?
Fourteen of London's wards had zero infant deaths in same 6-year period and none of these were within 2 miles of any incinerator and the largest single group of zero infant death wards in London is seven miles upwind, ie to west, of nearest incinerator.
Here's 1st sentence of conclusion for Japanese incinerator study of 2004:
"Our study shows a peak-decline in risk with distance from the municipal solid waste incinerators for infant deaths and infant deaths with all congenital malformations combined."
& here's title:
